About
Mindawn.com is a new concept in digital music business. Has three major benefits: offers non DRM music, provides both OGG and loseless FLAC files and it's player runs on Windows, Linux and MacOS platforms.
But there is more into it, and the major challenge for our team was to create a fully administrable application. We created a set of custom management modules for each section of the website. Furthermore, the admin interface is split into several layers of access and tasks for each user type: administrators, customers, artists, record labels.
Mindawn provides power to it's users. Customers can build their own profile, setup multiple addresses, view their referrer account status, setup newsletter preferences. More, they can see online their orders and download their purchased tracks. Artists upload their own music, create albums, upload artwork and lyrics. Record labels manage their own set of artists getting a global view of their business. All these account types have their own statistics and reports.
The site has two versions. There is a browser version, and there is a more streamlined version that is loaded into the Mindawn Player, a multiplatform application that allows customers to listen to samples of the music before they actually buy it.
From the visitors point of view, Mindawn.com has all that a truly professional solution needs: account management, detailed preferences, browsing filters (e.g. if you are interested only in FLAC music you can hide OGG tracks/albums), intuitive interface, streamlined shopping procedures (no page reloads!), tracks/albums statistics, automated shopping suggestions, comments and ratings, multiple payment options.
